This course meets the requirement of the Alaska Department of Labor (DOL) for certain painters to obtain a hazardous painting certificate. According to 08 AAC 061. 800 persons who perform hazardous painting operations must attend an approved 16 hour course and obtain a certificate from the DOL. Renewal courses(8 hour) and certification are required every 3 years thereafter. The course provides instruction on the health and safety hazards of typical paint operations; engineering controls, work practices and PPE. Hands-on training consists of qualitative fit tests, setting up push-pull ventilation and using air flow measurement tools.
Classes are held from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Alaska Time)
