MSHA Part 46 Aggregate Miner Training Initial

24 Hours: $350

This course provides training on the aggregate industry, including sand, gravel, lime, and cement. It covers MSHA regulations, miner rights and responsibilities, hazard recognition, reporting procedures, emergency medical procedures, evacuation plans, fire warning and firefighting, safe operation of equipment and machinery, and electrical and explosives safety as outlined in 30 CFR Part 46. This course is intended for new miners entering the aggregate mining industry.

MSHA Part 46 Aggregate Miner Training Refresher

8 Hours: $200
This annual refresher course provides training on the aggregate industry and reviews regulatory updates, site-specific hazards, and safe work practices. It covers hazard recognition, emergency procedures, miner rights, 30 CFR Part 46 requirements, mine-specific procedures, and operational changes affecting miner safety. This course is intended for experienced miners in the aggregate mining industry.

MSHA Part 48A Underground New Miner Training Initial

32 Hours: $400
This course provides training for new underground miners, including those in coal and metal mines. It covers miner rights and responsibilities, hazard recognition and reporting, work duties, safe use of machinery and explosives, ground control and ventilation, fire prevention and emergency procedures, transportation and communication, barricading, and self-rescue and respiratory device as outlined in 30 CFR Part 48A. This course is intended for new underground miners and does not include the final 8 hours of site-specific training conducted by the mine operator.

MSHA Part 48A Underground Miner Training Refresher

8 Hours: $200
This refresher course provides training for underground miners. It reviews mandatory standards, miner rights, hazard recognition and reporting, transportation controls, roof or ground control, ventilation procedures, barricading, emergency evacuation, firefighting, Hazard Communication Standard (HAZCOM), and first aid. This course is intended for all miners working in Part 48-covered underground mines and certain surface operations not covered under Part 46.

MSHA Part 48B Surface New Miner Training Initial

24 Hours: $350
This course provides training for new miners working at surface mines, including metal, nonmetal, and coal operations. It covers miner rights and responsibilities under the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act, hazard recognition and avoidance, emergency procedures including fire warnings and evacuation plans, safe use of machinery and equipment, transportation and communication systems, ground control and excavations, and other requirements outlined in 30 CFR Part 48B. This course is intended for new miners entering surface mining operations and leads to a Certificate of Training (MSHA Form 5000-23) upon successful completion.

MSHA Part 48B Surface New Miner Training Refresher

8 Hours: $200
This annual refresher course provides training for experienced surface miners and reviews regulatory updates, site-specific hazards, and critical safe work practices. It covers hazard recognition, emergency procedures, chemical and physical hazard awareness, protective measures, changes at the mine site that may affect miner safety, and requirements under 30 CFR Part 48B. This course is intended for experienced miners working at surface mining operations who must maintain compliance with MSHA’s annual training requirements.

MSHA Experienced Miner Training

8 Hours: $200

This course provides training for experienced miners who are newly hired, returning after an absence of more than 12 months, or transferring to a new mine or between surface and underground operations. It covers ground control, hazard recognition, accident prevention, emergency procedures, job-specific health and safety requirements, and the use, care, and maintenance of self-rescue and respiratory devices, as required under 30 CFR Part 48. Training includes site-specific instruction on tasks, equipment, and mine emergency plans. This course is intended for experienced miners performing new or unfamiliar duties and must be supplemented by mine operator–provided site-specific training documented on MSHA Form 5000-23.
