Lead Awareness
2 Hours: $65
This course provides training on lead hazards, their history, industrial uses, common sources in residential and occupational environments, recognizing potential lead hazards, and understanding the health effects associated with lead exposure and poisoning. This course is intended for personnel who may encounter lead-containing materials during maintenance, custodial, or general work activities.
EPA Lead Paint Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Initial
8 Hours: $285
This course provides training on safely conducting renovation, repair, and painting activities in housing and facilities containing lead-based paint. It covers EPA certification requirements under the EPA RRP Rule, HUD’s Lead Safe Housing Rule, and the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) (40 CFR 745 Part 745 Section 402(c)(3)), including regulatory requirements, hazard recognition, containment, safe work practices, cleaning verification, and recordkeeping. This course is intended for contractors, remodelers, painters, maintenance personnel, and others whose work may disturb lead-based paint. The course includes hands-on exercises and a final exam, with certification valid for five years.
Alaska Hazardous Painter Initial
16 Hours: $275
This course provides training on hazardous paints as required under Alaska Statute (AS 18.63.010–100). It covers identifying and safely using paints that contain hazardous materials such as lead and solvent-based products, including toluene, xylenes, isocyanates, epoxies, and acrylics. Water-based paints such as latex are excluded. This course is intended for painters seeking State of Alaska certification, which requires a $100 fee submitted to the Alaska Department of Labor within 30 days of training and is valid for three years.
Alaska Hazardous Painter Refresher
8 Hours: $175
This refresher course provides training for certified painters working with hazardous paints under Alaska Statute (AS 18.63.010–100). It reviews safe-use practices, regulatory requirements, and updates related to hazardous paint materials. This course is intended for current Alaska Hazardous Painters renewing certification within the allowed renewal window; individuals may train during the 12-month grace period but may not perform hazardous painting with an expired certification.
